BULLETIN BOARD

 

 

In 2024, Sarasota County experienced three hurricanes in a two-month period.

  • Debby – making landfall near Steinhatchee FL about 7:00 am August 5, 2024 as a CAT 1 hurricane
  • Helene – making landfall near Perry FL at 11:10 PM September 26, 2024 as a CAT 4 hurricane
  • Milton – making landfall near Siesta Key FL about 8:30 PM October 9, 2024 as a CAT 3 hurricane

Hurricane Helen caused extensive flooding in Golden Beach.

Hurricane Milton soon followed with torrential rains, storm surge, and winds exceeding 100 mph, leaving Golden Beach with downed trees and fences, extensive damage to homes, power outages and massive amounts of debris.

GBAI Coordinated Events for 2025 are tentatively scheduled:

  • January 11: Chili Cook-off (rain date, Sunday January 12)
  • February 22: Soup Night
  • March 15: St. Patty’s corned beef and cabbage (rain date Sunday March 16)
  • April 4: Taco night (rain date Sunday April 5)
  • October TBD: Golden Beach Tailgate Mixer
  • November TBD: Italian Fest

BOARD MEETINGS

Regular monthly meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month from September through May.  Unless otherwise noted, meetings are held at 6:30 pm in the Venice Fire Station #1 (112 Harbor Drive South).

gAZEBO RESERVATIONS

 

 

GBAI members can reserve the Gazebo for personal events. The gazebo cannot be used for an event without a reservation and existing reservations will be posted on the beach access bulletin board.

Remember that only members are allowed to park in the parking lot, and you need to take your trash with you when you leave.

The gazebo is not open for reservations on the following holidays:

  • New Year’s Day
  • President’s Day
  • Easter
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas
